By Weekend Star Chart Watcher, Staff ReporterEVERY NOW and then a song hits The Weekend Star Charts that makes people stop and say, hey!
A song with a difference like Love So Nice by Junior Kelly, They Gonna Talk by Beres Hammond and now Virtuous Woman by Warrior King.
The King's tune entered the chart last week at number 29 as a new song after being at the tenth spot of the bubblers chart the week before. This week it has surged to number 18.
Your Weekend Star Chart Watcher thinks this song by a fresh act is a shot to watch. They lyrics are about women, and it is kind to them.
Warrior King said the idea for Virtuous Woman, came from experience. At age 21 the rastafarian singer, born Mark Dyer, recognised no real man could live without a woman.
"This (song) is not only about my experience but other men who have experienced what happen to me. When my woman left it was then I knew a woman is the other half of a man," Warrior King said.
He said it took him only about four hours to write the song. "What was inside of me was coming out. Everything just flowed."
When Virtuous Woman was spun last weekend at Bounty Killer's birthday party the thousands patrons there were flashing their lighters in approval.
Warrior King is humble. Ask him what he thinks about the song: "It (the song) will expose me to the public and will make the people know I am doing Jah works," he added.
