THE EDITOR, Sir:
FOR SOMETIME now I have promised myself to write a letter complimenting the National Housing Trust on its mignificent performance over the years but for unexplained reasons I never got around to do this except for today.
I only decided to write today after reading a letter to the editor in today's copy of the online edition of The Gleaner.
My first favourable impression of the NHT was formed around 1993 after the NHT not only assisted me to receive the benefit that they promised me but also helped me to resolve an issue with my intransigent building society.
I have had reason to do business with the NHT on at least three other occasions and each case I was impressed by the excellent service that they provided. The quality service that they provided to me is, in my opinion, world class and one which needs to be replicated by all institutions in Jamaica.
During the last year I had to interface with numerous service providers both in the United States and Jamaica. The quality service NHT provides is comparable to that which I received from my banks, Citibank, Chase and Washington Mutual in the United States.
Unfortunately the service of the local banks and insurance companies that I have to do business with when I am in Jamaica is not at the level of NHT's service. Also, many foreign companies that I have business with in the United States deliver a lower quality service to that given by the NHT.
I am always delightfully astonished that they have been able to consistently provide this high level of quality service over the years and would like to implore them never to desist from dispensing this immaculate and impeccable level of quality service. Perhaps if all branches of government and the wider business community were to emulate their laudable performance Jamaicans would have reason to be proud. Keep up the good work!
I am etc.,
