Mallory's Latin roots CD
Everybody knows that Mallory Williams was responsible for the hits- She Boom,Irie Dawta and Reggae Gone Grammy. Few people know, however, that Mallory started out with his father, Luther, playing at the North Coast's Arawak Hilton Hotel and that his father's biggest hit was titled Arawak Cha Cha?
But, if you knew about the latter, then you wouldn't be surprised that Mallory has gone back to those Latin roots with his new album, Mallory Williams and Friends, Dance Reggae-Cha-Cha-Cha.
The CD is a joint effort with his co-owner of the Top Secret label, former We The People band saxophonist Tony Greene. Among the songs on the CD is a reworking of Arawak Cha Cha, which he recorded in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Friends on the CD include Greene, Uroy, Sugar Minott, Nana Mclean, Hitman Wally and Madd Anju.

Revue says that the CD has been made deliberately less energetic than the more reggae-friendly I've Got News For You, but he believes it has more international appeal.
