Letter of the Day - An angel in disguise

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WHAT'S GOOD about Jamaica? My answer is, people like Mrs. Walker, the proprietor and manager of Morant Villas, situated in Morant Bay. While on a touring holiday of Jamaica last month, I caught the flu virus and was unaware of it and put it down to not feeling very well. I booked in at Morant Villas and within a couple of days my condition worsened and it was evident I needed professional medical help.

Mrs. Walker to my rescue! She took charge of my case, juggled successfully between doctors to find me one which could treat me as an emergency. (As it happened, he was Dr. W.A. Brown of Morant Bay. A brilliant man: another story.)

After an injection and two potions, I was still weakened but started feeling better within a couple of hours.

It did not end there, Mrs. Walker and staff even took me breakfasts in the mornings, knowing I had to take the medication after food. The odd bowl of fish soup did not go amiss for elevenses either.

I am delighted to describe this lady as an angel in disguise. She was there with unselfish help when I needed it most. To top this pleasant experience, pending my departure, Mrs. Walker asked, did I have any washing before I left. This was beautifully done and returned refreshed.

Mrs. Walker, I thank you to the bottom of my heart for your caring and attention during my time of illness and wish you and yours all the best for the future. May your establishment flourish way beyond your wildest dreams.

I am etc.,

TREVOR L. GRANT
