Chinese and the Olympics

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM with 22 Jamaicans visiting Beijing and touring China.

We are all impressed by the development, orderliness, cleanliness and discipline of the people of Beijing, and indeed of China. I strongly believe in and support China's application for the selection of Beijing as the next Olympic venue. I urge the Jamaican Olympic Association to cast its vote for Beijing.

Canada has already had a chance. One billion three hundred million people should be given a chance to show the world China's progress in organisation, and commitment to the Olympic values of friendship with all peoples, and the brotherhood of man.

I am etc.,
