Hall, Banks nominatedfor WICB posts

Hall

BRIDGETOWN, CANA:

THE West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) yesterday named Wes Hall and Val Banks as the only nominees for the vacant posts of president and vice-president.

In a release, the WICB said Hall of Barbados has been nominated for the presidency by the Barbados Cricket Association and the Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board of Control.

The WICB further stated that Val Banks of Anguilla has been nominated for the vice-presidency by the Leeward Islands Cricket Association and the Barbados Cricket Association.

Elections for these posts will take place at a meeting of WICB members at the Savannah Hotel in Barbados on July 21.

The positions of president and vice-president became vacant after Jamaican lawyer Pat Rousseau and Antiguan business executive Clarvis Joseph resigned at a meeting of the WICB directors in Barbados earlier this month.

It now appears that Hall and Banks will automatically become the new president and vice-president of the WICB since no other nominations have been received.
