Parks Road needs repair

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THERE IS a small community just outside Kingston called Parks Road, about 11 miles from Constant Spring.

It is a nightmare for us the people of Parks Road and visitors travelling to and from this community.

The road from Constant Spring to Parks Road is full of craters, some big enough to be used for tanks and pools. Some sections of the road have no surface at all; vehicles have to crawl through.

Our government, whose motto is "We put people first", could find money to purchase electronic voting machines and to widen roads that were already paved and okay, believe me, although it is necessary, it grieves my spirit.

It is understood that both general and by-election triggers off fixing of roads in communities. Then I can't wait for one to happen to this constituency.

To the "We Put People First" government of Jamaica, on behalf of the people of the Parks Road community, we ask your help with this catastrophe that we face. If there is not enough money to carry out a comprehensive road work, then at least try and patch the major ditches on the road.

We are, etc.,
