Telephone woes

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WE IN the Free Hill, Oxford and Geddes Town communities of St. Mary have been making pleas and applications to what was then "The Telephone Co. of Jamaica" which has now been taken over by "Cable and Wireless" for house to house or land line telephone system. We have even had a peaceful demonstration a few months ago in this regard, which has resulted in no response.

We have witnessed many communities around us who have applied many years after we did, who are now enjoying the privilege of this amenity. We are left to ask, Mr. Editor, if we will ever be given this absolutely necessary privilege.

We have tried every available avenue even through our Member of Parliament to no avail. Are we not citizens? And are we not entitled I ask? Thanks.

I am, etc.,

WESLEY N. LEVY, J.P
