St. Jago for US tourney

ST. JAGO High, winners of the double in Corporate Area schoolboy cricket, will leave the island on Tuesday to participate in the week long Washington Independence Cricket Tournament in Baltimore between July 4-8.

The Grace Shield and Jamaica International Insurance Knockout competition winners will play Spaulding Cup champions St. Elizabeth Technical in their opening game on Wednesday. The teams will play in a 50 overs competition with the winners advancing to the final on Sunday while the losers will face Washington All Stars 1X on Saturday.

The players leaving for St. Jago are Ryan Campbell (capt), Damion Henry, David Lemmie, Howard Edwards, Gavin Wallace, Nicholas Mae, Danza Hyatt, Marlon Johnson, Oneil Morgan, Damion Williamson, Ralston Bell, Andre Rowe, Alrick Campbell and sportsmaster Nesta Jackson. Physical trainer Raymond Graham will also accompany the team which returns home on Monday, July 9.
