Too much bickering

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS appalling to see the 'politicians' bicker back and forth like a bunch of pre-schoolers, while the country in general, and Kingston in particular, go to ruins, economically and otherwise. Indiscriminate violence has been a part of the Jamaican fibre for much too long, and though the masses have seen and experienced the withering effect of this behaviour, one wonders if the 'politicians' really give a damn! Except, of course, for the blame game ad nauseam.

And for those in Jamaica who are worried and concerned and taking the media to task for exposing the country's little dirty secrets, I have one word for you: INTERNET, hello! No longer can we act and behave so uncivilised with impunity. Of course, I am just an individual, but I have heard numerous potential travellers to Jamaica change their itinerary because of the negative - and truthful - information gathered from the WEB. As a Jamaican who once entertained thoughts of one day returning to the country of my birth for a relaxing retirement, I now only reflect and cogitate on what could have been. Jamaica the beautiful, may God bless you.

I am etc.,
