TWENTY-ONE year old Kerryana Leslie will represent the parish of Manchester in the Ms. Jamaica Festival Queen Coronation slated to be held on July 21 in Kingston.

Ms. Leslie was crowned as Miss Manchester Festival Queen 2001 during the coronation show held recently at the Cecil Charlton Hall in Mandeville.

Kerryana, wearing the sash Miss Wilson's Cable Company Ltd., also received prizes for the "Best Performer", while first runner up Vannessa Taylor, Miss Place for Shoes was voted the "Most Congenial" and the "Most Culturally Aware". Second runner up was Kerine Waugh, Miss Maxies Department Store.

The show dubbed "The Emancipated Woman" came alive when Marcia White, Miss Elysuine Development and Construction Ltd, performed her talent piece "If Walls Could Talk". As Marcia sang, she gently moved her hands down her legs and she was cheered on with shouts of "Go Marcia, Go Marcia".

Other contestants were Kaydeen Campbell, Miss Wint's Shop 'N' Save; Kennisha Wilson, Miss Samfo Wholesale and Sophia Smith, Ms. Super Plus Food Store.
