JUTC restores normal service

THE JAMAICA Urban Transit Company (JUTC) yesterday restored normal service to the Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region, with minor adjustments to a number of routes.

JUTC Chairman Joseph A. Matalon, said in a release yesterday that the adjustments were made for areas where roadblocks or rubble remained, making it unsafe for the buses to travel. The routes were:

Routes 22 and 31 which usually travel along Spanish Town Road, were diverted through Greenwich Farm Road, to complete the journey along Marcus Garvey Drive.

Route 47 was diverted from Red Hills Road at the intersection of Valentine Drive to resume its regular route at Hill View Terrace.

Routes 77 and 83 were diverted from Mountain View Avenue at the intersection of Langston Road to proceed downtown via Elletson Road and Windward Road.

Route 81 was diverted from Lincoln Road to Lacy Road.

Commuters are advised to check for the latest updates.

The JUTC was forced to adjust routes several times since last Saturday to avoid areas affected by tension in sections of West Kingston as well as subsequent roadblocks.
