Summer'sCool
"Summer'sCool" is in session. Margueritaville Montego Bay presents its annual series of summertime sessions, "Summer'sCool". The trio of parties began June 22 and will continue tonight with "Lesson 2 - MoBay Reacts", featuring Pieces Disco, to be followed Friday, August 20 by "Graduation - The Conclusion" which will feature a surprise sound system. Tickets will be available at the gate at Margueritaville.

NSoul Youth Jam
Trumpet Call Ministries presents the second annual 'NSoul Youth Jam at the Chinese Benevolent Association, 176 Old Hope Road, Kingston 6, July 20-22. Starting time 7:00 p.m. Admission Free. The show will feature Mr. Goddy Goddy and many others.

Bar-B-Q 2001
St. Michael's Anglican Church presents Bar-B-Q 2001 at the Police Officers Club. Supper to be served between 5:30 and 9:00 p.m. The Wild Bunch Disco will complement live entertainment. Gate prize is a trip for two donated by Air Jamaica. Admission is $400. Proceeds are in aid of church and community projects.

Block 24

The Probemaster production 'Block 24' will be staged at the Little Theatre, Tom Redcam Avenue tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 5:30 p.m.This marks the return of David Tulloch, formerly of JMTC, who wrote and directed last year's JMTC's Junior Theatre production "Rockin Romeo".

Panafest Fundraiser

The joint performing arts group from St. Catherine High School and St. George's College, will host a weekend of shows at the Ward Theatre. Proceeds will go towards their scheduled visit to West Africa as part of Panafest Celebrations in Ghana later this month. Show times are 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Total Thrill
Sandals Montego Bay Sports and Social Club presents "Total Thrill" - a millennium old clothes party. Gates open at 7:00 p.m. Music by Pieces.

Best of the Best

Are you talented and dream of the chance of being discovered? Here is your chance to shine and become a star at Negril Star Search's "Best of the Best". Trials start at noon at the MXIII Complex. Semi-finals will be on Saturday, August 18 and the finals on Saturday, August 25. Emcee Richie B plus special guest artistes. Winners receive cash plus other prizes.

Kumento Festival

The second staging of "Kumento Festival" will be held at the Lyssons Community Centre playing fields in the parish of St. Thomas. The gates open at 7:00 p.m. and the programme starts at 8:00 p.m. Come experience the "Kumento Festival 2001," a feast of African Roots in Jamaican music.

Young talent

Young talent will be on parade at the Doctor Bird Nightclub. Admission is $100 and you receive a free drink. The event kicks off at 8:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m. The party continues from 10 'til you say when.

SUNDAY

Asylum Night Club

Nitro Power will be injected into the Asylum Nightclub tonight. They will be joined by deejay Fashion of Fire Fraternity. Special guest artistes will include Mr. Lex, Delly Ranks and Ricky Rudie. There will be lots of give-away including CDs.

Talent Contests

Talent contests return to Wynters Park, St. Catherine this and every Sunday. Enter your best song, dub poem, etc, and win prizes. No entry fee. Starting time 8:00 p.m.

Bubbling Brown Sugar

Bubbling Brown Sugar now playing on weekends at the Phillip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, UWI, until August 19.

December

Patrick Brown's "December" plays at the Montego Bay Little Theatre Movement. The play runs Thursday to Sunday every weekend until August 5.

Klimax presents Freaky Foam Friday Party at the Indies Sports Bar and Grill, Holborn Road, featuring Renaissance Disco. Admission $1,000 all inclusive. There will be a "shake your booty contest" and the winner gets $5,000. There will also be 'platinum surprises'. Showtime 10:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m.

TEEN FEST

JADE Promotions presents Teens Fest 2001 at Puerto Seco Beach, St. Ann, at 10:00 a.m. Featured artistes include TOK, Sean Paul, Looga Man, Innocent Crew and Mr. Chicken. Musical juggling by Left Side and Esco. Sound systems Coppershot and Turbo Charge will also play.

RATIO 3:1

Party fans this one's for you - Ratio 3:1 tomorrow at the Caymanas Polo Club. Admission $1,000 pre-sold for females, $1,200 for males; and $1,500 at the gate. Ratio 3:1 is an all-inclusive event (includes drink and food). There will be the Dancehall/Hip Hop featuring Copper Shot, Renaissance, Left Side and Esco. There will also be a 70s, 80s and 90s Disco featuring Sparkles Disco with Bobby Wong and the Captain Colin Hines from Fame FM. And Soca/Oldies 60s and 70s - ska, rock steady featuring Kurt Riley and Mikey Thompson. Part proceeds are in aid of the St. Andrew Central Police Civic committee.

MIDDLESEX BEAUTY

The Miss Jamaica World Middlesex contest will be held at the Golf View Hotel, Mandeville at 8:00 p.m. Tickets $500 pre-sold and $600 at the gate.

FESTIVAL BEAUTY

The finals of the Festival Queen contest takes place at Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, Kingston at 8:00 p.m. The competition will feature 13 girls who have been involved in extensive grooming sessions.

TASTEE SEMIS

The Tastee talent semi-finals take place at Tastee Outdoor Theatre. See 25 contestants and special guest Roy Rayon, past Festival Song winner.

WORLD BEAUTY

The Miss Jamaica World Eliminations will be held at the Hilton Poolside, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets $600 pre-sold, and $700 at the gate.

TOUR OF DUTY

"Tour of Duty" is going military (camouflage). It will be held from 2-11 p.m. The venue is a new property called Norbrook Mountain, located along Boon Hall Road in Stony Hill. Tickets are $500 pre-sold, $700 at the gate.
