Let's have a love campaign

THE EDITOR, Sir:

FOUR STARS to Fay Bangerter for her letter captioned "The Medicine of Love" seen and read in The Sunday Gleaner dated July 1, 2001.

Like Ms. Bangerter, I'm an advocate for spreading love today, everyday in every way. Like Ms. Bangerter, I'm challenging all Jamaicans to start this process by having a "Love Campaign" followed by a "Day of Love" blessed by all the churches of Jamaica and more importantly, "the Government of Jamaica".

Some readers may think this is stupid or crazy, but with loving efforts from all, we can start the ball rolling towards the goal of a more beautiful Jamaica void of all the hatred, violence and senseless killings.

How loving it would be for the "Love Campaign" to be launched alongside the political campaigns before the next general election wherein all Jamaicans would be voting for "Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica Land We Love".

I am, etc.,

RON JOHN GORDON
