Teachers' exodus will redound to Ja's good

THE EDITOR, Sir:

K. REID'S letter on the exodus of Jamaican teachers is right on target. For one thing there is an over-supply of teachers.

Also, it seems to me that Jamaicans are an 'island people' and as such they must travel. How else are they going to broaden their horizons.

For example, take the current wave of Indian professionals migrating to the United States. Does anyone think that this trek occurred by chance? Does anyone think that because these immigrants are here in the US, they are anyway less caring about their homeland? What of the massive relief fund-raisers recently held for India?

Did this happen by chance? I would think not.

In the final analysis, the migrating Jamaican teachers can only redound to Jamaica's good.

I am etc.,
