THE EDITOR, Sir:
I UNDERSTAND the anguish of Opposition Leader, Mr. Seaga when he saw so many of his "parishoners" killed. Certainly, as the high priest of his people, he must see it as a fearful thing to stand before God on their behalf, without a just answer for the slaughter. The Bible asks, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" The answer is, plenty if one is righteous because, "the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
In the vexing problem concerning the Commission of Enquiry, Mr. Seaga could form his own parallel commission and take testimony from the people. We could then see how they match up with the appointed commission and somewhere between the two sides, the truth should emerge. Because the prayer is still, "Justice, truth be ours forever."
But for God's sakes, stop the unending, pointless, quarrelling. These men have become like nit-picking children who play a deadly game of marbles with the nation as the ultimate prize. It would be good if they simply took up their marbles, went home and allowed the women to get on with the job of restoring the nation to God's original plan, without the ego and testosterone problem.
Jamaican women are not impressed with your irresponsible childishness which allow policemen and soldiers and others of our people to continuously be sacrificed to either keep or put anyone else in power. For God's sakes, take up your marbles and go home! The game's up! The alternatives must at least offer better than the murder and mayhem we are experiencing now.
