Reshuffling 'jokers' in the Cabinet

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I READ your article in Tuesday's issue of The Gleaner on the long-promised reshuffle of P.J.'s political Cabinet and was amused to see that he has reshuffled the two 'jokers' in the deck of cards, K.D. Knight and Bobby Pickersgill.

Jamaicans had long ago concluded that these Ministers should have joined their erstwhile colleague Easton Douglas on the back benches of Parliament.

Mr. Douglas in my opinion tried his best as a member of the Prime Minister's card pack but failed miserably.

With regard to K.D. and Bobby K.D. is arrogant and heartless thereby causing a lot of inhumane and violent crimes to drop through the cracks of his administration.

Bobby, the best-dressed man in the Cabinet, is more concerned with the PNP getting a fourth term than the people of Jamaica getting their just reward from the government. Bobby we still have power outages. I am aware he will not be the Minister responsible after November 1, but just as K.D., he will have influence on the Cabinet. Jamaica is imploring you to exercise some too with your colleague Ministers.

Mr. Editor, the reshuffle of Mr. Patterson's Cabinet reminds me of a housewife doing spring cleaning in her house and while doing so she shuffles and reshuffles her crockery in her Chinese Cabinet so as to accommodate wares from elsewhere in her house.

Let us take a look at the promotion of my friend Colin Campbell. This was long expected that he would be appointed to a post of his calling. Anyway I hope he will not make this portfolio a propaganda machine for partisan reasons.

He must always be for the people irrespective of their political persuasion and speak the truth however hard it is going to be.

The appointment of comrade Horace Dalley is a step to strengthening his arm in his constituency as it is well known that Horace Dalley is badly losing ground.

I am, etc.,

EVERROD WILLIAMS, Councillor

Ensom City, St. Catherine
