Ackee warning

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WOULD like to alert the public of the fact that they could become victims of the "ackee attack." You see there are some street vendors who seem to be unaware that they are purchasing ackee that has not opened naturally. So unfortunate persons, like myself, who recently suffered being poisoned by consuming this type of ackee, would greatly appreciate it if the unscrupulous persons who are doing this would stop. Let nature take its course and allow the ackee to open on its own.
