in Music

LIFT UP Jesus in Music takes place at the Strand Theatre, Montego Bay, today at 7:30 p.m. The Lennon Brothers, Joseph Scott, New Creation, Tempo, Faith In God, Audley Scott, New Prospective, Vivace and others will perform.

Key Club fundraiser

Division Six of Key Club International will be having a fundraiser today. The fundraiser is aid of the eradication of Vitamin A Deficiency.

'Soca Reggae Vintage Fest 2001'

L.A.C.E Foundation presents 'Soca Reggae Vintage Fest 2001' - a fund-raising showcase which will be held at La Roose Restaurant today. Featuring Pat Kelly, Ken Boothe, Calypso Rose, Phyllis Dillon, Stanley and the Fab 5 band. Music will be provided by Afrique Disco and other guest selectors. Gates open at 8 p.m. All proceeds in aid of the Lyon's Association for Children and Elderly (LACE Foundation).

The Praise Academy of Dance will be hosting a 'Christmas Grand Market and Mini Concert' today at 97A Old Hope Road from 3 to 10 p.m.

No Guts, No Glory

'Sheffield Showdown II, No Guts, No Glory', is on at the Sheffield ball ground in Westmoreland today. Gates open at 7:00 p.m. for this boxing extravaganza, put on by Dreamscape Boxing Club.

Stone Love in association with Guinness will be hosting Stone Love's 29th anniversary today at the Mas Camp. Featuring performances from Elephant Man, Sizzla, Beenie Man, Lady Saw, Buju Banton, Delly Ranks, John Holt, CeCile and many more. Gates open at 9 p.m.

Irie Vibes

Irie Vibes on Norman Washington Manley Boulevard, Negril, presents live Reggae music every Monday (Beach Party), Thursday (Ladies Night) and Saturday (Night Life). Music by Concrete Band.

'Justice Fiesta'

Jamaicans For Justice will be hosting 'Justice Fiesta' at the Building Blocks Pre-School, 82 Lady Musgrave Road today. Dinner will be served from 9 p.m. onwards. Music by Sparkles Disco.

Children's Christmas Party

'The Annual Children's Christmas Party' hosted by the Friends of the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Library takes place today in the Reading Room, 2 Tom Redcam Drive beginning at 10 a.m. Entertainment will be provided by magician De De Edmondson, the St. Peter Claver Ensemble, the Lighthouse Choir, the Mona Heights Primary School, Rosseau Primary School and students of the library's Dance Class. Emcee will be Auntie Nahvuma.

Karate tournament

The Japan Karate Association of Jamaica presents its 27th Annual Tournament tomorrow at the Mico Teachers College Auditorium. Eliminations will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12 p.m. and the finals will be held from 7-10 p.m.

Art and Craft Fair

The Association of Jamaican Potters in collaboration with Tastee Ltd. and Burger King will be staging an 'Art and Craft Fair' on the grounds of the Forestry Department, 173 Constant Spring Road. The fair will be held today and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 16

'Adult Mento Band Competition'

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission will stage its second annual 'Adult Mento Band Competition' as well as the 'Jamaica Jonkunnu Mento Festival', both events will be held tomorrow on the lawns of the Ranny Williams Entertainment Complex, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival will feature a Jonkunnu Street Parade which will showcase live performances from Jonkunnu bands which will travel from Constant Spring Road to the Ranny Williams Complex, also there will be a Jonkunnu Children's Costume Competition as well as many other attractions.

Jamrock Sports Bar and Grill brunch

Starting tomorrow there will be Jamrock Sports Bar and Grill brunches from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. serving up liver & bananas, brown stew chicken, run dung, ackee & saltfish and other Jamaican cuisine in generous helpings. Also available will be the traditional breakfast packages including eggs, pancakes, bacon and toast.

'Christmas Bazaar'

The Jamaica Horticultural Society (J.H.S.) will host their two-day 'Christmas Bazaar' at the J.H.S. Show Grounds, Hope Gardens today from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and then again on Sunday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. There will be plants, art and craft items, clothing and a wide variety of products on sale.

Jam Rock and Bass Odyssey square off

Jam Rock and Bass Odyssey square off at Black Ants Corner, Runaway Bay, tomorrow.

Mini Miss Windsor Heights

'Fun Day and Inaugural Mini Miss Windsor Heights and Charles Town' is on at Windsor Heights Ball Ground tomorrow. Music is by Mello Phonic. There will be six-a-side football, bounce-a-bout, merry go-round and go-kart racing.

'Anything a Anything'

Ian and Bread Bread Promotions present a night called 'Anything a Anything' at Mango Tree Lawn, Granville, Montego Bay, tomorrow. Music by King Midas and Innocent.

'Grand Christmas Concert'

The Hatsome Music School located at 28 Keats Avenue, Duhaney Park, presents a 'Grand Christmas Concert' at the Duhaney Park Primary School on Sunday December 16 at 6 p.m. Featuring performances from Toots Hibbert, Abijah, Uton Greene, Eddie Fitzroy and others. Music by Nothing Fancy and backing by the Melody Revealers band. Proceeds are in aid of purchasing musical instruments for the music school.

'Jus Right'

Girls Entertainment Group in association with Heineken presents 'Jus Right' tomorrow at 20a Skyline Drive beginning at 3 p.m. and ends when you say when. Featuring Deejay Hollywood, Merritone, Melody One, Leroy Sibbles, Mordy Brown, Bobby T and Delano.

'An Evening of Classical Elegance'

The Andrews Memorial Hospital presents 'An Evening of Classical Elegance' featuring the New England Youth Ensemble conducted by Dr. Virginia Gene Rittenhouse on Sunday December 16 at the Little Theatre, 4 Tom Redcam Avenue. Proceeds are in aid of the Andrews Memorial Hospital East Wing Building. Admission adults $500 and children under 12 pay $200 at the gate.

Carol Service

The Hampton Old Girls Association presents its 'Annual Carol Service and Christmas Dinner' at the St. Margaret's Anglican Church at 167 Old Hope Road today at 5 p.m.

'100% Undiluted Roots Rock Reggae'

Harry's Bar will be hosting '100% Undiluted Roots Rock Reggae' this and every Sunday. Music by Rockers International sound station. The event will get underway at 6 p.m.

Weekly juggling session

A weekly juggling session is being held at the Little Copa Club every Sunday. Featuring juggling from Father Gemini of Gemini Disco. The session begins at 12 noon and goes up until 12 midnight.
