Eugene Pitter, Staff ReporterIMAGINE SITTING for more than three long hours being entertained for free and at the end of it people keep saying, "Oh what a night"
This was the case when Corporate Image, the producers of Tastee Talent's grand final show, went all out to ensure that the taste of talent was just good, from start to finish.
The winner of the Tastee Talent Contest was Stavan Whyte. Second place went to Janice Daley with third place going to Kevin Downswell and Dwayne Williams placed fourth.
Best Dressed male and female went to Kevin Downswell and Tenuke Doyley respectively. Dwayne Williams took the prize for best original entry while the most dynamic stage performer prize went to Jenice Daley.
Contestant Jenice Daley's face expressed what one patron called "the height of hungryness" and was comic relief for many who thought she couldn't have been crying unless she had eaten a patty which had in hot pepper. And, to top it all, a patron decided to cure her hungry feelings by shoving a bottle drink in her hand as Jenice completed her act.
Emcee Jenny Jenny didn't spoil the fun but brought more laughter commenting, "she really hungry fi true."
Williams, who placed fourth, must have had a problem getting his plaid jacket on since it was so tight it wrinkled. And, how about his black bow-tie extending almost to his armpits and a pair of pants which he should have worn at an old-clothes party. Needless to say, Williams had patrons rolling in their seats.
This was one contest where patrons got bananas, tomatoes and carrots to share with each other. This was from the group 'The Farmers' who made the mistake of leaving their goods on stage.
A group of women simply ran-off with the goods as they had done when the group won the March semi-finals.
UNEASY
Kadian Allen made a teenager quite uneasy in her seat, when she kept on pointing at her while performing the poem, Pregnancy. When the teenager could take it no more, she simply got up, leaving the seat to another fan.
The Levy Brothers will long be remembered, if only for the movement which eight-year-old Ovando did on stage. "Oh what a boy can dance" a woman kept saying as Ovando left the stage still dancing.
Stavan Whyte, the winner, had a piece of yam hanging under his crotch as if there was no other place to put it. Of course, emcee Jenny Jenny capitalised on it like a good investor.
Then there was this joke about who prefers cho-cho over sugar-cane. And again Jenny Jenny and Bagga Brown were the orchestrators.
Oh what a night it was when Nashae Walters performed his original piece entitled Life. His comical face just had people smiling, even those who seemed to have problems.
