JPSCo shows their love

BLACK RIVER, St. Elizabeth:

THE BLACK River branch of the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPSCo) and the Community Relations Section of the company showered the inmates and officers of the St. Elizabeth Infirmary with their love on Saturday.

In an interview with The Gleaner, Customer Service Supervisor of the JPSCo. Black River office, Elaine Grindley, said electricity and plugs were set up in the male and female wards of the building. She said that the administrative and matron's offices were re-wired: "We have also wired the kitchen on the premises", she added.

"We have also donated food items, clothing and bed linen. Five security lamps were installed on the outer section of the property and an additional two are to be installed at a later date," Ms. Grindley said.

Matron Paloris Kenlock said she was grateful to JPSCo. for their assistance because the infirmary was in dire need of lighting in certain sections of the property. She said everyone was happy because there is a greater level of security.

"Most of the roads on the compound that were without light now have light. We are happy for that. The staff here and I are feeling more secure at the infirmary. The company also promised to come back and finish the project they had started," the matron said.

Ms. Grindley also said she was concerned about the conditions at the infirmary, for the facility, she said, was in need of urgent repairs. Other projects which the company has assisted over the years include donations of paint to the Barbara Hall All-Age School, cash and kind to its fire victims in Phornton and the painting of the Santa Cruz and Knoxwood Basic School in St. Elizabeth.
