Disappointed in the Speaker

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE SPEAKER of the House does not seem to understand the responsibility of the House of Parliament.

It was with disgust that I watched the Speaker of the House on December 18, 2001 dictating the number of questions being asked about the NetServ scandal.

I feel as if I have been personally picked by a pickpocket with this $180 million scandal. There is no reason Parliament cannot continue all night to discuss a scandal as serious as NetServ. The taxpayers of this country demand it.

The Speaker needs to understand that she has a responsibility to the entire country, not just to Parliament.

I am etc.,
