Prime Minister disappoints on NetServ issue

THE EDITOR, Sir:

REGRETTABLY! I had the pain and the agony listening to the Prime Minister of this country, on RJR's Hotline programme at approximately 11.50 on January 4, 2002.

In answer to the talk-show host, regarding, what is now billed as the 'NetServ Scandal,' he said that the Minister of Commerce and Tech-nology was overzealous and made an honest mistake. He further stated that he had every confidence in Minister Paulwell.

In this little to-do the Minister's "exuberance" and "honest mistakes" have cost us the Jamaican people, our grandchildren, children yet unborn millions of dollars.

Editor, the world that we live in demands that sound financial policies can prevent the debacle that took place at NetServ, with the CEO, Mr. Perreira blaming the July 7 disturbances, the September 11 activities of the terrorists in the US of America and possible Senator James Robertson of the JLP.

In the final analysis, what is the end result? This country Jamaica, all 2.6 million of us have been made to look like a card pack of jokers.

I am, etc.,
LLOYD A.S. HENRY
Highgate, St Mary
