Members of the Sanguinetti New Testament Church of God in Clarendon recently held an appreciation service for district overseer and pastor of that church, Rev. Monroe Wisdom and his family.
The service which was attended by mostly members of the church congregation, began with a devotional exercise, lead by Pastor's Council member, Samuel Smith.
There were many tributes and presentations for Rev. Wisdom and his family. Among the performances were Marline Wright's song God is still on the Throne, Can't Give Up Now by a quintet of children and the well known song There Will Be Mountains by yet another group.
Sister Marion Blake, president of the church's Youth Fellowship paid tribute to Rev. Wisdom on behalf of the young people in the Sanguinetti New Testament Church. She referred to him as a man of vision who loved young people, a man of prayer who loved togetherness, one who had initiative and one who always strove to get the best out of everyone.
The Wisdoms were also presented with several gifts from the various auxiliaries in the church.
In his reply Rev. Wisdom thanked the members of the church for hosting the function in his honour and praised them for the 100 per cent support they had given him as he continued to do the work of the Lord.
