'Big up' Beres Hammond

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM a Jamaican who has little or no knowledge about music and artistes. However, I do appreciate good music when I hear it.

I am writing to 'big up' one such artiste, Beres Hammond. I started listening to his music recently and in my humble opinion I think that he is one of the best not saying that Jamaica does not produce more great artistes, but I just like listening this artiste for now.

I believe in giving the flowers while the person is still alive.

Let us as Jamaicans learn to honour our queens and princes before it is too late or before another country does. Mr. Hammond's songs are teaching us to live in love, peace and harmony and that's what we need in this our lovely island, Jamaica.

I am, etc.,

YVONNE SMITH

St. Catherine
