Real Mona, Meadhaven in 1-1 tie

MARLON BAILEY scored a late goal yesterday to give home team Real Mona a 1-1 tie with Meadhaven United in their Zone One top-of-the-table KSAFA Major League clash at Butter Cup Park.

The Real Mona striker headed in a beautiful cross at the corner post from Kirk Williams, earning a well-deserved point in the 89th minute after Daniel Gray had given the visitors the lead in the 44th minute.

With the teams securing a point each, they drop to joint second in the zone with 15 points after entering the day as leaders with Jamaica Defence Force (JDF).

The Army Men maintained their winning ways by clipping bottom-placed Cavalier 1-0 and moved to 17 points which gives them sole leadership.

Meanwhile, Police National failed to hold their lead in Zone Two as they were edged 2-1 by Boys' Town at Mobile Reserve.

The win lifted Boys' Town to the top with 15 points, one ahead of Santos who crushed Vineyard Town 3-0 at Kingston College.

The final set of matches in the first round comes next Saturday with cross zone games.
