Gospel to Spring-Breakers

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I HAVE just finished reading the article titled, 'Gospel goodies for Spring- Breakers.' I think the idea of showcasing gospel artistes, having church services, and gospel seminars is an awesome idea. Since Spring-Break is traditionally associated with wild, drunken and immoral behaviour by university and college students, this Gospel Fiesta is a great way to showcase that there are young people who do live for Christ and who welcome 'good, clean, fun' during Spring-Break. As a native Jamaican who has lived in Toronto, Canada for the last 20 years, this article is a welcome change from reading about all the violence that has been occurring on my island of birth. I can only hope and pray that this event will be a success and that it will continue for years to come.

I am etc.,
