Alleged robber shot dead

BLACK RIVER, St. Elizabeth:

AN UNIDENTIFIED man was shot and killed, when he along with two others armed with guns, attempted to rob a businessman who was shot and injured at Common Pen, St. Elizabeth.

Reports are that about 11:10 p.m. last Sunday, three men in a white motorcar, one armed with a hand gun, went to a business place belonging to Mr. Kenneth Green.

Mr. Green, 51, was held at gun point, the men demanded money and when their demand was not met a struggle developed and the businessman was shot in the lower abdomen. He fired shots from his licensed firearm, hitting one of the men in the head, abdomen and right arm. The other two escaped.

The businessman was taken to Mandeville Hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition. The unidentified man was taken to the Black River Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On Sunday, February 3, Dwayne White, 37, was held up and robbed of $40,000 in the same area.
