Champs St. Jago finally get a win

FOLLOWING CONSECUTIVE drawn matches, defending Grace Shield champions St. Jago High scored their first win of the season when they defeated Tivoli Comprehensive by seven wickets at St. Jago High on Saturday.

St. Jago now join Jonathan Grant at the top of Group B with eight points. They were led to victory by good all-round performance by national Under-19 player Danza Hyatt who made 47 not out and claimed three wickets for 19 runs off six overs.

At Melbourne Park: Roy Williams' four-wicket haul and Andre Hall's unbeaten 44 led Kingston College (KC) to a crushing eight-wicket victory over Wolmer's in their Grace Shield Premier League match at Melbourne Park on Saturday.

Kingston College remain joint second with Trench Town on eight points each. They trail Group A leaders St. George's College who have 12 points from three games. However, Kingston College have only played two games to Trench Town's three.

Wolmer's follow next with four points from three games, St. Andrew Technical, who host Kingston College in a rescheduled game tomorrow, and Excelsior are at the bottom without a point.

At Excelsior: A half century from Omar Campbell and a good all-round performance by Sadiki Wright led Trench Town to a five-wicket victory over the home team. Scores: Excelsior 154 - Luke Wright 34, Dwayne Thompson 29, Kenroy McKay 16, Delano Cunningham 15; Wright 3-27, Sadiekie Keating 1-30, Campbell 1-58. Trench Town 155 for five - Campbell 53, Wright 37, Javon Walker 29 not out; McKay 3-28.

At Emmett Park: Brian Hutchinson took six wickets to lead St. George's College to a crushing 101 victory over St. Andrew Technical. Scores: St. George's College 197 for seven declared;. St. Andrew Technical 95.
