Spotlight on Rastafarian sects
An interesting exhibition on Rastafarian sects and lifestyle is currently on at the African Caribbean Institute of Jamaica (ACIJ)on Ocean Boulevard in downtown Kingston.

Protecting the word is not easy
Tales of scarce resources, neglect, ignorance, and natural disasters resulting in "a nightmarish situation" across the region were told by a panel discussing the protection of Caribbean cultural material recently.


Book review - Preserving Cuban culture, traditions
This book is influenced by the work of Fernando Ortiz, pioneer of the study of Afro-Cuban culture, who argued for transculturation rather than acculturation as the dominant factor in the creation of Cuban mass culture.
