Jamaican greatness and pride

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE JAMAICAN Team to the 2002 Carifta Games must be commended highly.

The support for the team by Jamaicans living in The Bahamas must also be commended. It was a great surprise to many to see the number of Jamaicans there and the camaraderie and togetherness of Jamaicans from all walks of life.

You would be so proud to be called Jamaican. I know that we have it inside us and we must continue to show the world what we are truly made of. We are a great people and the sooner the young people realise that, the better able they will be to prepare themselves for the world at large.

We must be proud of Jamaica. Jamaica is leading and we are once again the "talk of the town" in something great. I encourage all Jamaicans to be proud of Jamaica and work hard to maintain our heritage.

I am etc.,
