CARLA SEAGA, wife of Edward Seaga, the Jamaica Labour Party leader, is expecting a baby.

Now four and a half months pregnant, Mrs. Seaga, 42, told The Gleaner she was ecstatic, and considers the pregnancy a blessing. The baby is due in September.

Her doctors have advised her not to overexert herself but she says, "I'm still working and doing my duties and activities". Asked about her husband's reaction, she said he was thrilled.

The couple will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary in June.

Mr. Seaga who turns 72 on May 28, has three adult children - two sons and a daughter - by his previous marriage.
