Braeton Inquest resumes today

THE CORONER'S inquest into the killing of seven young men by the police at Braeton, south St. Catherine in March 2001, is to resume today following a two-week break occasioned by the sudden illness of Coroner Lorna Errar-Gayle.

Lawyers representing the police and the seven young men had set today for the inquest to resume.

Marcia Dunbar, Government Forensic Analyst, is expected to continue her testimony today regarding the result of swabbings done on the hands of the seven young men.

On April 8, when Mrs. Dunbar was last in the witness box, she told the court that elevated levels of gunpowder residue were found on the hands of Lancebert Clarke, 19, and Curtis Smith, 20.
