St. Jago hunt final berth

By Anthony Foster, Freelance Writer

AT LEAST one finalist will be decided at the completion of third round matches in the Grace Shield Premier League semi-finals which start today with two games.

Defending champions St. Jago, who defeated Calabar in their first match, will be full of confidence as they travel to Maxfield Park to face Trench Town, who lost their opening game against the team St. Jago beat.

In the other semi-final, Jonathan Grant will try to put behind them their one-wicket lost to Spanish Town when they host St. George's College at Lime Tree Oval, both games start at 10:00 a.m.

St. Jago only need a draw to advance, Trench Town, on the other hand, have to win to force a three-way play-off.

However, with national representative Danza Hyatt who made a quick-fire 66 and an unbeaten 160 in the knockout final against St. George's College, opener Damion Henry who has scored two half centuries in his past three innings, skipper Ryan Campbell, David Lemmie and Ralston Bell things will be hard for the Robert Campbell-led Trench Town team.

Trench Town lost against A League beaten finalists Calabar and they may not ready for the big league as yet.

The team has talent in Campbell, who scored 55 against Calabar, Dwayne Garvey, all-rounder Sadikie Wright and spinner Sadiekie Keating, but appears to need more to challenge the big sides.
