Overseas-based Jamaicans the vote

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I FEEL very strongly that all Jamaicans should be allowed the privilege to vote in the general election if they so wish. I also feel that when this is done a lot of Jamaicans that live abroad and take no interest in the political and economical affairs would then be a little more interested in what happens.

I would encourage all Jamaicans living abroad to take an interest and lobby wherever possible to press home the point that we want to be given the opportunity and hope that the powers that be will look into the matter and act on it at the very earliest in the interest of all. Why should we help whenever there is a disaster and they do not recognise us otherwise.

I am etc.,

CLEVELAND SANKEY.
