John Irving stays at Red Stripe

John Irving

RED Stripe's President has taken the decision to extend his tenure in Jamaica for another two years.

In a release issued by the company, Mr. Irving said: "Red Stripe is currently in a critical stage of transformation and subsequently, the need for continuity is vital at this time.

"The decision to remain in Jamaica was not a difficult one for Clara and I because we both believe in the great future of this business and also enjoy living and working in Jamaica. I am very proud to be working with such a highly talented and skilled team here at Red Stripe. Testimony to this are the phenomenal growth of our business and the many awards we have won this year including the Jamaica Manufacturers Association's, Governor General's Award for Excellence and the numerous Peer Awards.

I have also been appointed to serve on the Guinness Global Brand Executive Team and the Diageo Leadership and Culture Executive Working Group. This is another growth opportunity for Red Stripe as I will be better able to transpose ideas between the businesses and further develop our market."
