Call in the Fraud Squad on the Gov't

THE EDITOR, Sir:

HERE IS a question being asked of me by grass root colleagues, street sweepers, garbage collectors, domestic helpers, cane cutters, factory floor workers, higglers, etc. Why is it when lawyers make mistake with clients' money they are investigated by Fraud Squad, tried and sent to prison, when bank managers make mistake with depositors money they are also investigated by Fraud Squad.

So why when politicians make mistake with taxpayers' money they are not being investigated by the Fraud Squad? Sir, who are politicians? Are they untouchables? Are they superior human beings to the rest of us Jamaicans? Is Jamaica their sole property that they do as they like whether it suits us or not?

Call in the Fraud Squad if they find nothing to prosecute that's fine - but call in the Fraud Squad that we may be satisfied that there is nothing to hide.

I am, etc.,

ROBERT SOLOMON HENRY
