A word for Mr Seaga

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MR. SEAGA's recent speech in England has left many uncommitted voters confused. Prior to his latest outburst, Mr. Seaga made an impassioned presentation to Parliament, arguably, the speech of the decade. Based on that speech most persons were led to believe, that the years of confrontational politics were finally coming to an end. No more would we experience the 'mash down and build back' mentality. A practice, practised by the two major political parties.

Our national airline, Air Jamaica, and the country image were just trying to recover from a vicious punch below the belt. Delivered by the The Mirror of England. To follow this with such an announcement as Mr. Seaga did can only be compared with pulling away the carpet from under the feet of a struggling fighter.

Mr. Seaga, I implore you and all other persons seeking to manage the affairs of this country, make nation-building your ultimate goal, personal and or constituency objectives.

I am, etc.,

M. CLARKE

St. Catherine
