Worried students

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WE ARE concerned students of the Westwood High School who are worried about the amount of children being killed daily. If the killing is not by accident, it is by causes. We believe that too many unwanted pregnancies are happening in this country. We think that if the mothers are too young or too old to keep their child/children, they should give them up for adoption. They must not murder the child/children. Murder is the term we use to describe this brutality that is happening to some children. For example, an 18-month-old child was burnt to death because of parental irresponsibility and carelessness.

We think that what they should do is when someone comes into a hospital pregnant, they are supposed to be asked whether they have a proper job, are they getting enough money (wage) that can support the child or children and whether they want that child. We are appealing to the Minister of Health to see to this. We are children and we would not like to see so many young innocent children dying.

They are supposed to be given the opportunity to have a life, to grow up to see what life is all about, experience it and to see what it has to offer. Mothers, we are appealing to you as children, also, please if you are not prepared to have a baby, practice safe sex and don't let another life go because of carelessness

We are, etc.,
