Festival Queen says thanks

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WOULD like to use this medium to say special thanks to those who have contributed to the enhancement of my reign and also the fulfillment of certain responsibilities as Festival Queen for the parish of Hanover.

I chose to work with the Copse Place of Safety for Boys as my project. The theme was: "Getting past the past". The message simply being, that negative circumstances of yesterday can be transformed into strengths for today, as a result of positive thinking, faith in God and prudent choices.

I attempted to arrange counselling/rap sessions for the group of 10 boys that I worked with and also established the goal of contributing to the entertainment aspect of the Place of Safety.

Although I was only able to make visitations to the home for four months, as a result of the necessity of leaving the island due to the demands of my studies, I must thank those who have contributed to making it a success, even in my absence. Special thanks to Courts (Lucea, Hanover), for their benevolent contribution of a television set to the Copse Place of Safety. Thanks also to Family Care Pharmacy for their kind contribution.

I must also say thanks to the group of boys for their willingness to participate in the project, as well as their interest and enthusiasm. It was really my pleasure working with you all, with my only regret being the short length of time.

Sincere gratitude to those who contributed to making this project a success, as you continue to commit yourselves to improving, this our Jamaica, Land we Love.

I am etc.,
