Where are the ranks of the Constabulary?

THE EDITOR, Sir:

JUST A couple of days ago, I was passing through an uptown plaza, when I saw four uniformed policemen standing very close to each other. I assumed that they were on foot patrol. I deliberately looked on the shoulders of these officers and none was wearing any chevron (stripes). It was quite obvious to me that these were young and inexperienced policemen working on their own. I must admit that I have noticed this trend for quite some time.

At a time when there seems to be an attack on the rule of law in this country, one would believe that among the measures that managers of the force would put in place is to have at least one sub-officer on any patrol that is going out on the street.

This, I think will ensure that these young men and women who wear uniform are properly supervised.

So the question is, where are the ranks of the Constabulary?

I am, etc.,
