Stage set for dictatorial system

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE STAGE is being set for a dictatorial system, not only so far as crime is concerned but in the calls being made by members of various affiliated and service groups.

People are no longer calling for dialogue to settle disputes, but calling for the dismissal of these bodies, once they take positions or decisions not to their liking. This brings me to the call for Mr. Derrick Heaven's resignation or dismissal and now the call for the removal of Mr. Bill Clarke.

The gunmen, on the other hand, want the removal of Mr. Reneto Adams and Mr. Francis Forbes for someone of their choice so that they can have their own way.

We have to wake up and get sensible or one day we will wake up to the fact that our freedom of speech and freedom of movement that we so dearly enjoyed, is taken away.

Let us have peace instead of war, let us have dialogue instead of disunity and tribalism.

I am, etc.,
