Alpart's programme under way

ALPART'S ANNUAL summer programme for youngsters opened on Monday at the Ray Gendron Recreation Centre in Nain.

The programme is scheduled for five weeks, it involves basketball and netball training sessions and competitions and is being attended by about 300 youngsters between the ages eight to 16 - all of whom will be provided with uniforms.

The coaches will be headed by Michael Stephenson - basketball, and Jeanette Burke - netball - with the first two weeks devoted to training and development and the next three weeks to competitions.

The participants are from the communities of Nain, Stephen Run, Myersville, New Building, Brinkley, Warminister, Brambleton Hall, Precious Plains, Pepper, Gazeland, All Valley, Downs, Genus, Red Bank and other districts around Alpart.
