USAIN BOLT just cannot stop himself.
He can't stop his appetite. He can't stop daydreaming about track and field and he certainly cannot stop his speed.
"I'm so fast I wonder about it myself sometimes," said the Trelawny native.
Bolt was not being cocky. He was being truthful.
He won heat four of the 200 metres in a personal best 20.58 seconds despite obviously slowing his speed nearing the end of the race yesterday.
"I can go even faster. I know I can do better. I tried to slow down but I was going too fast. Those guys had better watch out because I'm going for gold," he said.
Bolt had the fastest time going into the semi-finals. Besides injury or an act of God, his only threat to that goal he says is the German pair of Till Helmke and Sebastian Ernst who both clocked 20.97 seconds.
He was also worried about Antiguan Brendan Christian who had the ninth fastest qualifying time, but not overly.
Christian's 21.09 became his country's new national junior record.
"He's very fast (Christian). All of them are fast but I don't think I have any competition in this. Track is all I dream about so I give it everything," he said.
As for his appetite: "I eat like a horse. I don't even know how I do it. I don't stick to a strict diet like most other athletes I just eat whatever I can get my hands on -- fried chicken, pizza. Junk food. It's not a problem for me because I still perform," Bolt said.
