Harsh treatment of zookeeper?

THE EDITOR, Sir:

RE ZOOKEEPER FIRED over monkey's escape: This is truly a sad case for both parties involved, namely: Sammy and the zookeeper.

Although I am not aware of all the evidence involved, I have one concern. Is there evidence that the zookeeper acted intentionally, maliciously, or is a repeat offender? If not, he should be reinstated. I do believe there should be some kind of disciplinary actions taken but if he is not found guilty on any of the above-mentioned grounds, some other kind of punishment should be considered.

For animal lovers like myself, it would be good to mention how Sammy was laid to rest.
