Refreshing change

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ON JULY 29, 2002, I made a visit to the Constant Spring Police Station. I was most inspired with the level of service I received from all departments, especially Superintendent Samuels and the staff of the general office.

There was no guardroom but instead a reception area, with the most welcoming atmosphere, it was really refreshing to see both junior and senior personnel referring to you as "Sir".

I wish all the police stations in Jamaica could take a page from Constant Spring Police Station and treat all civilians with respect.

Once again I must say thanks to Supt. Samuels and Sgt. Matthews and all his staff that made the atmosphere a pleasant and welcoming one.

I am etc.,
