A good week on the JSE

THE JAMAICA Stock Exchange indices advanced last week closing the week on a positive note, the main catalysts being Carreras, Courts, LOJ and Seprod. The JSE Index increased by 240.66 (0.62%) points, to close at 39,058.52 points. The All Jamaica Composite jumped by 451.51 points or 1.17% to 38,928.42 points and the JSE Select gained a marginal 9.34 points or 0.76% to close at 1,224.16 points. Advancers, decliners and firms were almost even with a 10 to 9 to 11 ratio. Market capitalisation increased to approximately $253.98 billion after increasing by more than $1.49 billion. Total volume traded stood at 12,932,567 shares, with a value of $75,513,002.27. Volume leader was Cable & Wireless with 5,462,639 (42.23%) shares, followed by Courts with 1,205,279 (9.31%) shares and BNS ­ 806,956 (6.23%) shares.
