Thanks to my parents

THE EDITOR, Sir:

HAVING GROWN up in humble circumstances, as a child, walking the streets and sometimes ekking out a living on people's farms, were what defined my existence.

Without going into much detail, this letter is intended to be twofold:

(1) to thank all those including my foster parents Mr and Mrs McLean of Southfield in St. Elizabeth, as well as all the others who saw my capabilities and pushed me for self-improvement.

(2) to encourage youngsters, my fellow Jamaicans, especially from the inner cities, who see no hope beyond their present circumstances, to be ambitious and to strive for excellence.

I could continue, but this is not an autobiography.

Again, thanks to all those who have made my educational success possible.

I am, etc.,

KINGSLEY J. WRAY,

Dip. Ed. Mico, BA (Hons.)
