The Editor, Sir:
ON TUESDAY the 6th of August I had an accident on the way to the Montego Bay Airport my car skidded off the Norman Manley boulevard during a shower of rain. The car was badly damaged and the five of us from the car were wet from the showering rain.
We went across to the Sandals-Negril Hotel just to get out of the rain and to decide what we were going to do to catch the flight on time.
By the time we got on the compound, some kind and concerned staff members came out immediately as if we were their registered guests. They taped plastic over the smashed rear windshield, called the airport, washed off the grass-covered car, gave us a place to clean-up and change and loaned us a bus and driver to continue to the airport, all for free.
Thank you, Sandals-Negril, special thanks to the individuals who assisted us in some way or another. May God bless you. I am sure that the spirit of care and share is still alive in Jamaica, particularly at Sandals-Negril.
I am etc.,
