Re-tooling the minds of our young

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ELECTIONS ASIDE, any Party that is able to increase the level and quality of education in Jamaica will be playing sweet music to the ears of many parents.

Education is basic in a nation's hierarchy of needs - even more so in my opinion than shelter, cellie, car and believe it or not - the national debt!

It should not matter who or which Party wants to bring the opportunity at re-tooling the minds of our young, the very idea should be embraced by all. Picture Jamaica down the road with 'educated' minds channelling entrepreneurial spirits (a natural with Jamaicans) with wild abandon and awareness, totally free of political and/or area don control.

Picture it - Jamaica, the 'true paradise' that is almost totally educated, peaceful, clean and crime-free. Jamaicans - please don't throw away the message, even if you don't like the messenger.

I am etc.,
